interconnect their knowledge into a large knowledge base
without having to agree on terminology or facts.

On May 12th 2004, the
Multi-Source Ontology (MSO) of WebKB-2
is adopted by the
Standard Upper Ontology (SUO) working group as a material to study/re-use.
The main part of WebKB-2 has been developed under contract with the
DSTC
(Distributed Systems Technology
Center; previous W3C's Australian Office; DSTC closed in June 2006)
from January 2000 to August 2003.

and its use for indexing and then retrieving any part of any Web document.
